Ousmane Kromah, RB Florida State

A touchdown in every game, 6.2 yards a carry, and the RB14 in our data after going as the 48th back. The question for Saturday is how much work he gets now that Florida State's other backs are thinning out.

Ousmane Kromah has 76.3 half-PPR points in four games, 19.1 a game. That ranks 14th among the 110 running backs in Underdog's player pool who have played four games in our box-score data. The market took him as the 48th back.

Of the four players I added to this series this week, he is the one beating his price by the most.

Who he is

He is a sophomore from Leesburg, Georgia. Florida State's roster page lists him as a consensus four-star recruit and Rivals' No. 6 running back in the 2025 class, who chose Florida State over Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee.

As a freshman he played all 12 games, started two, and ran 72 times for 408 yards, 5.7 a carry, per the same page. Our box scores match.

The four games

New Mexico State, a 34-17 win on Aug. 29: 14 carries, 115 yards, a touchdown, including a 52-yard run. 18.7 points (ESPN box score).

SMU, a 27-24 loss on Monday, Sept. 7: 22 carries, 116 yards, a touchdown, including a 54-yarder. 19.0 points. The AP recap on ESPN notes that gave him back-to-back 100-yard games to open his sophomore season.

At Alabama, a 50-36 loss on Sept. 19: 17 carries, 80 yards, a 12-yard touchdown, 2 catches. 15.6 points (Florida State's recap). That is the game I would point to: on the road against a top-10 team, in a game Florida State trailed most of the second half, he still got 17 carries and scored.

Central Arkansas, a 34-7 win on Sept. 26: 11 carries, 86 yards, two touchdowns from 6 yards and 1 yard. 23.0 points. WCTV in Tallahassee notes he has scored in every game.

The number that matters: 60% of the running back carries

Kromah has 64 of Florida State's 147 rushing attempts, 44%. Leave out quarterback runs, mostly Ashton Daniels with 40, and he has 60% of the carries that go to running backs.

How I count it: his carries divided by Florida State's rushing attempts in the ESPN box scores. College stats count sacks as runs, so the 44% understates his share of the designed carries.

Two caveats on the efficiency. The 52- and 54-yard runs carry a lot of weight: without them he has 291 yards on 62 carries, 4.7 a carry. That is still good. And he catches very little, 5 balls for 41 yards in four games.

The backfield around him

Two things changed the picture this week.

The ACC's availability report, as pulled by our injury feed Friday night, lists Samuel Singleton Jr. out. Singleton had 20 carries plus 8 catches for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns in three games, so he was the receiving back. He did not play against Central Arkansas either.

That left Quintrevion Wisner as the second back last week, with 8 carries to Kromah's 11 in a blowout. Wisner is not a camp body. He was Texas' leading rusher in 2024 and 2025, with 1,064 yards in 2024, per ESPN (Max Olson, Dec. 26, 2025). He has 13 carries in three games here.

So Kromah should get more of the work Singleton leaves, and Wisner is the reason I would not assume all of it.

What I paid

Three teams, two in Best Bowl Mania and one in The Tailgate, at picks 143, 160 and 198. That averages 39 picks after his ADP, but the ADP on this page is the Sept. 14 figure and two of my three picks came in July, so I would not read the gap as me getting a bargain the market did not see. My preseason board had him 99th, ahead of the room. Its note at the time: "Leading Florida State's backfield in camp while Wisner has missed reps."

The one Tailgate team also has Duce Robinson, so it is a Florida State pair.

Projections and ownership are ours, from the ATO builder as of Friday night. Salaries and the line are the market's.

Virginia has allowed 4.2 yards a carry, 86th of 138 teams in our data, so this is a better rushing matchup than Missouri's or Auburn's this week. A near pick'em at home should keep the game script neutral.

At $5,900 on DraftKings, a back with a touchdown in every game and 60% of the running back carries is priced like a part-timer. Our builder expects about 15% of lineups to agree. On FanDuel, at $8,200, our projected ownership is about 5%, which is where I find him more interesting.

WEEK 11

WEEK 12

WEEK 13

vs Florida

Two home games out of three. Florida in Week 13 is a rivalry game against a defense that has been very good against the run, so Weeks 11 and 12 are the ones I am counting on.

Verdict: take more of him in my next drafts

These are Underdog best ball teams. Nothing gets traded or dropped, so the verdict is about what I do in my next drafts at this price.

A lead back with a touchdown in every game, on a team that has run 147 times to 99 passes, is what I want at pick 128. I took him three times and would take him every time he was there at this price.

What would change my mind

If Wisner gets 10-plus carries against Virginia in a close game, this is a committee, and the 19 points a game came from long runs and short touchdowns that a committee back does not keep.

If Kromah gets 20 carries and a couple of Singleton's catches, the RB14 number is his role, and pick 128 is cheap for it.
