MY BOARD

80th

set Sept. 3

Charlie Becker has 136.9 half-PPR points in seven games, 19.6 a game. Among the 53 receivers in Underdog's player pool who have played at least seven games in our box-score data, that is second, behind Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith (28.2) and ahead of Chris Durr Jr. (16.9).

My board had him 80th, 27 spots below his ADP. I took him anyway, 16 picks ahead of my own board.

Where he went in drafts

His ADP was 52.9, the 12th receiver off the board. I own him once, at pick 64 in a Tailgate draft, 11 picks after his ADP. That is 6% of my sixteen teams. Nobody else from Indiana is on that roster.

Who he is

ESPN's Adam Rittenberg wrote on Oct. 16 that Becker was a recruit out of Father Ryan in Nashville with four other Power 4 offers, mostly a special-teams player in 2024 with no catches, who became a starter in 2025 after a teammate's hamstring injury. Indiana coach Curt Cignetti told ESPN: "He's a real threat now. A premier player."

In our 2025 box scores he had 34 catches for 679 yards and four touchdowns across 12 games. This year, in seven games, he has 39 catches for 694 yards and eight touchdowns. ESPN's article has him fourth nationally in receiving touchdowns.

The seven games

Week 1, North Texas, a 52-16 win: 4 catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns. 20.4 points.

Week 2, Howard, a 55-0 win: 3 catches for 81 yards and three touchdowns. 27.6 points.

Week 3, Western Kentucky, a 38-0 win: 5 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown. 21.2 points.

Week 4, Northwestern, a 29-23 win: 7 catches for 98 yards. 13.3 points.

Week 5, Rutgers, a 47-15 win: 8 catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns. 26.7 points.

Week 6, at Nebraska, a 20-17 win: 3 catches for 52 yards. 6.7 points, his low.

Week 7, Ohio State, a 19-15 loss on Oct. 17: 9 catches for 165 yards, no touchdown. 21.0 points. It ended Indiana's 22-game winning streak. Cignetti told Fox Sports (Oct. 17), "That was a tough one not to win."

The number that matters: 39.8% of the receiving yards

Becker has 39 of Indiana's 113 catches, 34.5%, and 694 of its 1,744 receiving yards, 39.8%. Next on the team is Nick Marsh with 32 catches.

How I count it: his catches divided by every catch Indiana logged in the ESPN box scores. It is a share of receptions, not targets.

He has six games of 13.3 points or more. His 13.3 against Northwestern came with no touchdown: 7 catches for 98 yards, a floor made from the catches alone.

What to be careful about

Six of his eight touchdowns came in the first three games, against North Texas, Howard and Western Kentucky, by a combined 145-16. In the last four games he has two.

The Nebraska game is the other one to keep in mind: three catches for 52 yards in a three-point win.

Verdict: I would take more of him, but not at his ADP

These are Underdog best ball teams. Nothing gets traded or dropped, so the verdict is about what I do in my next drafts at this price.

My board said 80th and I paid pick 64. The data says the board was too low. A receiver with 35% of his team's catches is worth a fifth-round pick, and I would take him at his ADP in a future draft where I wanted one. I would not go ahead of it.

What would change my mind

If his catches keep landing at 3 to 4 a game, as in the Nebraska game, the 99 yards a game was a run of big plays.

If the touchdowns stay at zero while Indiana keeps losing close games, the 19.6 is mostly catches and yards, and that is a lower number than the one on the page.
